Everything about Shiba Clan totally explained

The was a clan long reputed as being descended from the Seiwa Genji branch of the Minamoto clan. Rising to prominence during the Sengoku period of the 15th century, the Shiba clan used their evidential tie with the Minamoto clan in order to obtain the position of shugo within the provinces of Echizen and Owari. Not being able to strengthen their family to the extent that they could firmly hold Echizen and Owari, the Ashikaga clan, seeing such an easy opportunity for expansion, took control over Echizen in the 1470s without any retaliation. Entering the 16th century in a clear state of ineptitude in governorship, the Shiba clan wasn't able to control the individual ambitions present within both the Kiyosu branch of Oda clan nor that of the alternate Iwakura branch. As a result, the present clan head, Shiba Yoshimune, lost his standing very quickly with the constant retaliation on both sides and his life by the hands of Oda Nobutomo–Iwakura's head–through a secret plot with the Kiyosu branch. With Yoshimune's death, the Shiba clan were completely destroyed as Oda Nobunaga used their power to destroy the opposition present within Owari Province.
